Centre for Teaching and Learning programs are open to all MacEwan University faculty and staff.
Programs at the Centre for Teaching and Learning are typically more comprehensive, ranging from half-day or full-day formats to multi-day sessions or a series of sessions conducted over a term. For those seeking shorter learning opportunities, we also offer sessions that are generally about one hour in length.
While some programs are designed for specific audiences, we offer a diverse range of faculty development opportunities and learning communities. These opportunities are regularly updated, so we encourage you to check our schedule frequently for the latest offerings.
Teaching Triangles
The Teaching Triangles program is open to any instructor interested in discussing and reflecting on post-secondary teaching and learning with MacEwan colleagues. Teaching Triangle members participate in a reciprocal process of peer observation, individual reflection and small group discussion with support from one of our Educational Developers.
Teaching Triangles are a great way to
- Experience what other instructors are doing in their respective disciplines
- Gather and share innovative teaching methods and ideas with others
- Reflect on your own teaching practices
- Support your colleagues to grow and succeed in their teaching and learning goals
Contact us and we will put you in touch with an Educational Developer who can answer questions and sign you up for MacEwan's Teaching Triangles Spring or Fall program.
New Faculty Orientation
Designed to make the transition to your new work home pleasant and meaningful, our New Faculty Orientation has sessions in the fall. This program is organized through the Office of the Provost. For more information, contact Stacey Martin, Senior Manager, Provost Office.
New Faculty Learning Community
Part social and part practical, in our New Faculty Learning Community, you meet other new faculty members and learn more about MacEwan from guest speakers in a collegial and supportive environment.
- Enhance new faculty development
- Build a more collaborative university community
- Support new faculty by introducing them to resources and opportunities
