The Training and Learning Grant should be used to pay the costs associated with skill or knowledge development opportunities such as workshops, webinars, panels, certifications and conferences. The objective is that these opportunities will build a student’s ability to properly engage with community in a meaningful and mutually beneficial way.
Some examples include:
- a student who volunteers at the food bank can apply to attend a Food Security conference.
- a student collaborating with a newcomer serving organization taking an online course about equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- a student involved with youth taking coaching certification.
Please note that prior to completing the application you will need to provide the contact information of the community partner organization that your opportunity is connected to and/or a letter of support for your training or learning opportunity. Students can apply multiple times to a total of $500 per calendar year.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a response provided within two weeks of submission. This grant is now accepting applications. If you have further questions, please contact scegtraining@macewan.ca
