The MacEwan Anti-Violence Education Network (MAVEN) Peer Education Program offers MacEwan students a unique opportunity to become leaders in sexual violence prevention, recognizing that students are powerful agents of social change.
MAVEN Peer Educators receive comprehensive training on topics such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and anti-oppression, with a strong focus on public speaking and community engagement.
After completing training, MAVEN volunteers engage the campus community in dialogue about sexual violence by developing and delivering education and outreach programming. This may include facilitating workshops and other events throughout the year.
