Revisit your childhood passion for mathematics.

Gain valuable experience for teaching and tutoring math to school-aged learners. When you volunteer to help young math whizzes prepare for this national competition, you benefit as much as they do.

Math Kangaroo in Edmonton

The Edmonton region’s Math Kangaroo competition is held at MacEwan University and Concordia University of Edmonton. This competition offers young students who love math an opportunity to explore their interest with more difficult concepts than what they are provided through the school curriculum.

Volunteer roles

As a volunteer, you help students prepare for the competition by teaching them the concepts that will be covered at the competition and guiding them as they work through sample questions. Students meet at MacEwan ten times to prepare for the competition at sessions referred to as Math Club. As well, volunteers proctor students during the competition, which takes place in March each year.

If you are interested learning more about being a Math Kangaroo volunteer or want to put your name forward as a volunteer, contact Cristina Anton, MacEwan's Math Kangaroo coordinator.
