Join us for a hackathon where you team up with other students, faculty and community mentors to create impactful solutions to tackle real-world health challenges.

The top team wins a prize of $1,000!

How it works

At a hackathon, participants are put into teams to take on a challenge. They spend the day creating an innovative solution that they present to a panel of judges at the end of the day.

The Hack4Health challenge asks teams to consider how emerging digital technologies, like artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality can be used to create innovative solutions in one of the following areas:

  • Health equity (e.g., patient care, systems navigation, access in rural and remote communities)
  • Workforce development (e.g., worker burnout)
  • Cancer care (e.g., precision medicine)
  • Teaching and learning (e.g., curriculum, interdisciplinary collaboration, student experience, program design and delivery)

This challenge is open to all students. Whether you’re in computer science, design, health sciences, social work or business, your unique perspective and skills are essential to creating meaningful innovations that drive change.

Why participate?

  • Your team can win $1000!
  • Gain hands-on experience in health-focused digital innovation.
  • Grow your professional networks.
  • Contribute to solutions that can make a tangible difference in healthcare.
  • Eligible for Student Experience Record (SER) – MacEwan students only
