Be a champion of diversity and equity. Build a campus community that is free from discrimination. By participating in leadership initiatives, awareness campaigns and open dialogue sessions, you learn to influence your community, both within and beyond the university’s walls.
The Champions of Diversity and Equity (C.O.D.E.) training initiative focuses on creating a space and culture for dialogue, learning, reflection and action on human rights.
When you participate in C.O.D.E. training, you explore the theory and practice of human rights. You gain skills in facilitating dialogue and conversations on critical human rights issues. You deepen your understanding and practice of Allyship, solidarity and witnessing as basic tools to claim human rights and develop skills to become educators and advocates on human rights issues.
C.O.D.E. training is open to all current MacEwan students: full and part-time, International and exchange, continuing education, English as an additional language and university preparation.
The nine-week training starts the week of January 20, 2025, and ends the week of March 17, 2025. All sessions are delivered through a mix of in-person and online formats, once a week from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Deadline to submit your interest is Friday, December 20, 2024.
