In May, we broke ground on the School of Business Building. It wasn’t the only exciting thing that happened that month, though! Check out photos from kihêw waciston’s first-ever Land-based Gathering, MacEwan CYU’s “Take Me to MacEwan” event and Cat Fest.
Back in September, we cheered on the Edmonton Elks with other post-secondary institutions at the Campus Clash game. We also welcomed students back to campus, hosted a Backstage Pass concert with Brett Kissel, showed support on Orange Shirt Day and more.

We hosted our first Indigenous Graduation Gala in April, celebrating the accomplishments of our Indigenous graduands with their families and friends before they crossed the stage and received their credentials in June.
YEG Ballroom performed in Roundhouse in February, sharing the power of queer performance art – from dancing to lip-syncing to modelling. The month also featured the Black Stories of Belonging event, performances of Twelfth Night, Valentine’s Day events and more.
Our campus photographer, Steven Stefaniuk, captured some students enjoying Fall Fest in September. He’s on-hand at most campus events, and once a year, shares the best and most interesting photos he’s taken, along with the stories behind them.

Twice a year, we get to watch with pride as students become alumni. We celebrated our graduates alongside their proud families and friends at convocation ceremonies in both the Fall and Spring terms.

MacEwan’s 2023/24 Theatre Season broke attendance records, with three out of four shows selling out completely. November saw their run of Legally Blonde: The Musical and other highlights including Fall Convocation, Open House, an Indigenous wellness symposium and more.

Last summer, Dr. Lynne Honey and her students ventured to Discovery Wildlife Park, where they taught a bear to touch his own head. Their project was one of many that MacEwan faculty, staff and students undertake over the summer months, from completing research to presenting at conferences and hosting events.
