MacEwan University is pleased to announce the appointment of a new dean of the School of Continuing Education. On June 5, Dr. Lisa Rochman will begin a five-year term in the role.

Dr. Rochman has extensive experience in post-secondary administration, continuing education and foundational learning. She comes to MacEwan from NorQuest College, where she has held a variety of appointments over the past 15 years, including her current position as vice-dean in the Faculty of Skills and Foundational Learning. She has a doctorate and master’s degree in linguistics from Ben Gurion University in Israel, as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rochman to MacEwan University,” says Dr. Craig Monk, provost & vice-president, Academic. “She will play an important role in guiding the School of Continuing Education as we continue our pursuit of Teaching Greatness: Strategic Vision 2030. She has done a great deal of work with credit and non-credit programs and is an expert in inclusive student experiences. We look forward to working with her as she grows the reach and impact of the School of Continuing Education.”

The search was conducted through the firm Janet Soles & Associates under the direction of a recommendation committee chaired by Dr. Monk. The search committee comprised Jane Duffy, librarian; Allan Gilliland, dean, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications; Suzanne LeBlanc, director, Finance and Business Operations; Terry McLean, English as an Additional Language, SCE; Helen Ngan-Paré, associate vice-president, Human Resources; Richard Pereschitz, university preparation and chair, School of Continuing Education; Kimberly Tavares, academic advisor, School of Continuing Education.
