MacEwan staff and faculty came together for the Students First campaign, which ran from March through June of 2022 and raised funds for scholarships, awards and bursaries (SABs) for MacEwan students.

Through their MacEwan spirit, monetary donations and volunteer hours, they helped to build a culture of philanthropy and worked toward a common goal of doubling the amount of student financial aid over the next five years.

“The philanthropic support of the internal MacEwan community is an important part of the university’s renewed commitment to ‘Teaching Greatness’ and provides critical financial support for many of our students, including those who have been historically underrepresented in post-secondary education, setting them up for success when they graduate,” says Tim Tang, associate vice-president, Students. “The success of this campaign has enabled us to invest in people, reduce barriers to access and maximize the number of students who can build their future through an education at MacEwan, regardless of their financial and personal circumstances. I’m proud to be part of an organization that puts students first and a successful campaign that has contributed significantly to advancing a culture of philanthropy on campus by engaging community support.”

Every single MacEwan student deserves an equal opportunity to succeed. And thanks to the support from staff and faculty, we’re closer than ever to making that happen for current and future students. It means so much to see staff and faculty invest in our futures; it lets us know that they believe in us. On behalf of all students, we want to thank them.
