The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), two of Canada’s federal research funding agencies, recently announced their latest round of grant recipients.
Among the scholars who received federal funding are nine MacEwan faculty members who will collectively receive more than $600,000 for research in a number of disciplines, ranging from chemistry and biological sciences to sociology and business.
“Tri-agency funding is an important part of growing MacEwan’s research enterprise,” says Dr. Craig Kuziemsky, associate vice-president, Research. The grants provide faculty members with dedicated funding to pursue two core tasks – the creation of knowledge to solve pressing societal issues and the development of talent through involvement of students and community partners in their research.
“Our continued success at receiving Tri-agency funding from NSERC and SSHRC affirms the high quality and innovative scholarly activity being done at MacEwan,” says Dr. Kuziemsky. “I am very proud of all these colleagues.”
