Each month we host an event that connects you to the sense of culture, ceremony and community we have here at kihew waciston. Drum making, elder protocol, stories from residential school survivors and so much more—join us as we explore Indigenous histories and experiences.
Our Indigenous Knowledge Keeper/Facilitator supports students and employees who require cultural guidance on a personal or professional level. Learn how to move forward with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's calls to action in your classroom. Participate in student sharing circles. Increase your understanding of Indigenous ways of being, knowing and doing.
Our ceremonial and gathering room is available to students who want to smudge on campus. kihêw waciston staff can provide you with sweet grass or sage, or you are welcome to use your own medicines from home. Whether you want to smudge on your own or with someone else, we welcome you to our space.
kihêw waciston partners with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities to promote and facilitate Indigenous education at the university. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with organizations to create meaningful and reciprocal change for Indigenous communities.
At Indigenous Students Club meetings, you gather for social and cultural events. The club hosts council meetings, corn maze walks, bake sales, movie nights, round dance gatherings and so much more. Join us.
