EARLY LEARNING at MACEWAN
Our Team
Early Childhood Educators
High-quality child care depends on having a team of qualified and caring professionals. Our staff have a strong educational background in early learning, and all of our permanent team members have the highest level of certification granted by Alberta Children’s Services.
We believe that learning is a lifelong adventure for children and educators alike. In order for our educators to cultivate inspiring environments and stimulate creativity in children, they need to be continually inspired and given ample opportunities to explore their own creativity. Our educators regularly engage in professional development, staying up to date with emerging theories and best practices. We provide avenues for our educators to pursue their own creative interests, encouraging them to experiment with new teaching methods, explore diverse educational tools and bring their unique perspectives into the learning environment.
Family and Community Liaison
Family engagement plays a key role in addressing the developmental and personal needs of your child. Our Family and Community Liaison works closely with children while also providing a diverse range of support to families. This includes fostering community connections and disseminating valuable resources, thereby creating a comprehensive support network for the well-being of your family.
Advisory Committee
ELM’s advisory committee serves as a dynamic platform for dialogue among families, faculty from the Early Learning and Childcare program, ELM educators and the larger professional community. This collaborative body plays a crucial role in ensuring the services offered by our lab school consistently meet the needs of our families and children. By fostering this exchange of ideas and feedback, we ensure our lab school’s offerings remain relevant, impactful and resonant for all who are part of the ELM community.
If you are interested in being part of our advisory committee, contact our Family and Community Liaison.
