TAX RECEIPTS

MacEwan University issues official income tax receipts to qualifying students each February for the previous calendar year. We must collect your Social Insurance Number (SIN) for this purpose.

T2202

The T2202 is the official certificate issued by MacEwan University for tuition and education tax credits that may be claimed on an income tax return.

The T2202 for a taxation year is available in myStudentSystem by the final day of February in the following year. This tax receipt is not sent by mail and is only accessible via myStudentSystem.

T4A for scholarships

In accordance with Canada's Income Tax Act, if you receive a scholarship, award or bursary, MacEwan University issues a T4A for the calendar year you receive the funding. We mail T4A slips in February to the address you have listed in myStudentSystem.

Register your social insurance number

MacEwan University must collect your social insurance number (SIN) if you are enrolled in a qualifying program eligible for tuition or education tax credits under the Income Tax Act.

We also require your SIN before we can disperse any funding such as scholarships, awards or bursaries to you.
