SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS & BURSARIES
ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
Through the Chancellor’s Scholarship Series, MacEwan offers entrance scholarships to newly admitted students based on previous academic achievement.
You do not need to apply for the Chancellor’s Scholarship Series. If you meet the criteria and you are beginning studies in the Fall or Winter term, you are automatically considered. If you are successful, you receive notice with your offer of admission.
Scholarships are available for both Canadian/domestic students and international students.
Students who meet the following criteria will automatically be considered for the award:
- Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person
- With an admission average within one of the scholarship tiers
- Entering a degree program directly from high school in the Fall term or the Winter term.
Students entering directly from high school with dual credit courses are encouraged to contact awards@macewan.ca to confirm eligibility.
- Entrance scholarships are based on the program you have selected and your admission average.
- In the Faculty of Nursing, all students who meet the requirements for the Chancellor’s Scholarship receive the offer at time of admission. Other students are considered for the President’s and Provost’s Scholarships after the start of the program. These scholarships are offered based on the next highest averages up to a combined total of 30 across all three tiers for students in this faculty.
- In the Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, students may also be selected based on their outstanding audition and/or portfolio. The additional criteria listed above still apply.
- If you are successful, you will be notified via email, which will be sent to your myMacEwan student Gmail account.
- If your admission average changes, your scholarship will be adjusted accordingly. You will receive a subsequent email notification before the start of the term. This notification will contain information on changes to your scholarship, if applicable.
