TRANSFER CREDIT ARTICULATION REQUESTs
For courses with a “No Rule” status and for post-secondary courses completed outside of Canada and the United States, you must initiate a transfer credit evaluation by uploading course outlines and related documents in myStudentSystem.
MacEwan University evaluators will then determine how—or if—the content is equivalent to courses offered by the university. This process can take time.
Process
Submit your request through myStudentSystem
Use myStudentSystem to request transfer credit articulation:
- Log in to myPortal.MacEwan.ca.
- Launch myStudentSystem from the Quick Links menu.
- From your student homepage, select Academic Records.
- Click on Evaluate My Transfer Credit in the menu.
- Select the institution. If an institution you have attended is not listed, please email transferunit@macewan.ca.
- Attach related documents (see requirements below).
Attach related documents
- All documents related to your request for transfer credit MUST be in English. If your academic records are in a language other than English, you need to submit both the original language document and a certified English translation, which must be complete, literal, word-for-word and in the same format as the original document.
- The course syllabus submitted for a transfer credit articulation decision must contain the items listed in the sample.
- Your final/official post secondary transcript must be submitted to the Office of the University Registrar.
- Submitted documents must be in either a .pdf (preferred) or a .docx format.
Translations
A certified English language translation is required for all academic records that are submitted in a language other than English. This includes transcripts, exam results, qualifications, credentials and all other documentation.
Translations must:
- be completed by a translator who is certified to translate the written language to English,
- include information about your translator,
- include an image of the original document used by the translator,
- be complete, literal, word-for-word, and
- be laid out in the same format as the original document.
