Guidelines
The Bachelor of Social Work’s competitive admission process evaluates and scores each applicant on a 100-point scale; points are calculated based on your AGPA and your application documents.
Admission grade point average (AGPA)
Your calculated AGPA is 70% of the overall 100-point admission score.
Early document deadlines
This program has early document deadlines related to the "other admission criteria" category of admission requirements. Submit documents from this category after you have applied to the program but before the other admission criteria deadline. If documents are not submitted by the deadline, your application will be considered incomplete and will be closed.

Essay
1. Download the essay form
Download and complete the filllable essay form. Space is provided on the form for your answers to the essay questions. These questions must be completed for your application to be evaluated. Note that response boxes are limited to 350 words.
2. Submit your form using myStudentSystem
After you have applied to the program, upload your completed essay directly into your student record through myStudentSystem. Save your document as a PDF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, DOC or DOCX file.
- Log in to myPortal.MacEwan.ca using your MacEwan username and password.
- Launch myStudentSystem from the Quick Links menu.
- From your student homepage, Select My Documents.
- In the Document Type dropdown menu, select Essay.
- Click Upload Document. A pop-up window will appear.
- Click My Device to search for your file, or
- Drag your file into the box
- Click Upload.
