CONSERVATORY of MUSIC
STUDENT Information
How to Sign up for Private Music Lessons
Students of all musical abilities are invited to take private lessons. Music Lessons are open to all members of the community. There is no need to be a MacEwan University student to take private music lessons. You will first need to connect with a private music teacher. There is an annual membership fee and each instructor determines their own rates.
Choose your instrument or subject of interest. You can select the name of a teacher you’d like to connect with or we can help match you with a teacher based on your availability, goals and interests.
After the Request a Teacher form is submitted, your request will be reviewed by the Conservatory staff within 1-2 business days. We will forward your request to an instructor who will reply within 1-3 days. They will discuss with you their availability, rates and studio policy.
After you have confirmed your lesson schedule with your teacher, follow the 2-Step registration process:
- Step 1: Pay the Conservatory Membership fee online using our third-party registration site ActiveNetwork, in-person or by mail.
- Step 2: Pay your lesson tuition directly to your teacher.
Private Music Lesson Information
Music lessons are for children, teens and adults of all ages. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Lessons are available online and in-person. Several different fees may be associated with private music lessons.
To take private music lessons at the Conservatory of Music, students register for a membership. This annual fee is $40 per student or $20 per additional family member. It is non-refundable and required after lessons are confirmed with a teacher. Membership is effective from September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
The $40 fee applies to students who start lessons before March 31, 2024. To accommodate new students starting in the Spring/Summer, there is a prorated fee available on April 1, 2025.
