SHALEE KONOJACKI

About
Shalee Konojacki began piano studies late in her teens and was immediately recognized as a determined and exceptional talent. After only a few years of study Shalee was accepted into the music program at the University of Alberta. Following four years of rapid development under Professor Jacques Despres, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. In the course of her studies she won the Jason Lang scholarship for Exceptional Academic Achievement as well as the Judy R. Shelley Memorial Scholarship in Classical Piano. Shalee has continued performing in the Edmonton area including numerous concerts with soprano Krista Lessard. Recently, Shalee has set her artistic sights on video and audio recording, producing a number of videos for her YouTube channel.
As co-creator and founder of Tempi Music, Shalee has provided over 12 years of dedicated and highly successful piano and theory instruction to students of all ages. She is also a regular clinician to music schools in Edmonton providing specialized masterclasses in exam preparation. Shalee is committed to innovation. Recently she undertook a number of courses at U of A in the Bachelor of Education area and is a regular volunteer at numerous elementary schools in Edmonton. This experience has brought to her teaching a greater understanding of how children learn and develop. She now integrates technology, gameification, movement and early childhood principles into an effective symbiotic whole where children can be children but teachers can keep a close eye on their cognitive development.
