Geraldine Haythorne

About
Geraldine Haythorne has been with the Conservatory of Music since 1976 and served as Piano department head. She has served as piano adjudicator for many festivals throughout Canada and as Senior Examiner for the Western Board of Music which became Conservatory Canada. She has conducted workshops in piano technique, repertoire study and piano pedagogy, and participated in MusiCamrose’s piano camp since its inception. In addition, she has studied voice and has directed a number of church and ethnic choirs.
Lessons
Geraldine offers private classical piano lessons in-person at the Alberta College Campus and online for intermediate and advanced students. Minimum level grade 4 RCM or equivalent. She teaches ages 8 to adult. She also teaches adult students who are looking to return to piano after a hiatus.
She specializes in teaching piano pedagogy to prepare students for the Royal Conservatory of Music Associate Diploma (ARCT). She also prepares students for performances, competitions, auditions, and examinations. Students can look forward to performing in annual recitals.
