CONSERVATORY of MUSIC
strings, guitar & harp
The string family of instruments includes the orchestral strings: violin, viola, cello and double bass. These instruments make up the largest section of the symphony orchestra.
Other string instruments include guitar, electric bass and harp.
Each of these instruments can be started at a young age. Violins come in various sizes, which makes it a great instrument to start as a child.
Learning guitar allows you to discover different styles, techniques, and your own compositions. Classical, acoustic, electric and bass guitar lessons are available for all ages and levels. Styles include classical, flamenco, rock, blues, jazz, folk and country.
Our students can be found performing in ensembles, bands and the Edmonton Youth Orchestra or pursuing post-secondary music degrees.
Our teachers are excellent educators and professional musicians performing solo, in ensembles or in bands.
