Becoming an entrepreneur isn’t a straight and narrow path—and it’s not something you can learn from a textbook. It involves ups and downs, trial and error and inventing your own way of doing things. That’s where MacEwan’s entrepreneur in residence comes in.
Since 2021, our entrepreneur in residence has provided real-world advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, business people and employers. The program fosters an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset in students and alumni, mobilizing entrepreneurs to build investable businesses and helping their brilliant innovations change the world. When you meet with our entrepreneur in residence, you learn from someone who knows what taking a business concept from that initial spark of an idea to a successful venture means.
Appointments with the entrepreneur in residence are free and open to all members of the MacEwan community.
Join MacEwan’s entrepreneur in residence for a series of workshops intended to make your start up or business idea succeed. To register for the RBC Foundation Ventures @ MacEwan workshops, you need to have an existing idea to work on.
Meet Tristan Ham, entrepreneur in residence
Tristan is overjoyed to be MacEwan’s entrepeneur in residence. His career started in social work where he worked in child protection both in Australia and Canada.
Tristan then entered the employment readiness space where participants prepared for careers in Alberta’s tech sector. This led him to work with Startup Edmonton for four years as a facilitator and coach, teaching entrepreneurship to thousands of founders in various stages of their start ups during that time. Currently, he works with his own start up, Unbounded Thinking, as MacEwan’s entrepreneur in residence and as the facilitator of RBC Foundation Ventures @ MacEwan.
