CLINICAL SIMULATION CENTRE

Standardized Patient Simulation Suite

Imagine having a conversation with a patient and their loved ones during the end stages of life or with a new parent whose baby requires special care. In this suite of rooms, you interact with professionally trained actors who simulate patients in a variety of situations, helping you hone your ability to empathize, support and inform in a safe, supportive environment.

Using cutting-edge audio and video technology, you, your peers and your instructors are able to observe, review and reflect on simulation activities. This suite of rooms consists of seven patient rooms, each equipped with wall outlets that simulate medical air, oxygen, suction and examination equipment, and a conference room for small group meetings and for debriefing after a session.

We learn these things in class, but it’s entirely different when you have a real person sitting in front of you.
