Our students contribute to society by having a positive impact on the lives of others and by building safe, secure and just communities. We prepare them for a career in the fields of corrections, emergency response, investigations and policing.
Our programs balance rigorous academic training with applied field-based courses, providing students with the opportunity to work with and be mentored by professionals, community members and clients in real-world settings. Our graduates are prepared for careers in justice or public safety or to further their education within MacEwan University or at another institution.

Equity admission
The Department of Public Safety and Justice Studies at MacEwan University is committed to principles of equity and diversity. The Department supports equitable representation of groups underrepresented in public safety and justice professions and has reserved up to 10% of admission spaces in each program as equity admission spaces for applicants who self-identify as Indigenous. MacEwan University defines Indigenous as First Nations, Métis and Inuit people in Canada.
