All full-time students are invited to apply for USRI project grant funding. With this grant, you take the lead on a project of your choice that has a research or creative focus.
You need to have a faculty mentor to guide your project, but you take the lead. Your project proposal outlines how the activity will enhance your knowledge in your discipline.
USRI Project Grant Amount: $3000
Faculty mentors: Submit the application by following these steps:
- Log in to PeopleSoft.
- Choose the Research tile.
- Navigate to the My Grant Application page and select Project Grant from the list of awards. Choose Start a New Application to begin a new application. Applications that have already been started can also be accessed from this screen.
Note: USRI Project will only show up in the list when applications are open.

Undergraduate Student Research Initiative
The Undergraduate Student Research Initiative (USRI) is a General Faculty Council’s Standing Committee on Scholarly Activity program. It provides funding to support MacEwan students to conduct their own research and creative activities and disseminate their findings.
