This internal grant supports thematic area funding for MacEwan faculty.
Scholarship aligning with one or more of the following categories is eligible for funding through the Thematic Area Funding grant:
- Health and wellness in communities
- Persuasive and immersive technologies in research and the scholarship of teaching and learning
- Energy and environment
This grant must include a faculty member from outside of your discipline as part of the research team or a community partner. Stronger applications will have a interdisciplinary research team and a community partner.
Please note, funding is limited, and this grant will be adjudicated and awarded as applications are received.
Grant allocation
The maximum grant amount is $10,000. Grant funds must be expended within twelve months of award. Extensions will not be considered.
Eligibility
An individual is eligible to apply for internal research funding if they hold a full-time faculty appointment that contains research within its position duties. Sessional faculty are only eligible to be collaborators on internal grants as part of a research team. Previous recipients of a thematic area funding grant are not eligible to apply for this grant again.
Apply for the Thematic ARea Funding Grant by following these steps:
- Log in to PeopleSoft.
- Choose the Research tile.
- Navigate to the My Grant Application page and select Thematic Area Funding Grant from the list of awards. Choose Start a New Application to begin a new application. Applications that have already been started can also be accessed from this screen.
Note: Thematic Area Funding Grant will only show up in the list when applications are open.
