However, many face significant financial barriers that can prevent them from reaching their full potential. The Students First campaign is committed to addressing these barriers by providing scholarships, awards and bursaries to those who need them most.

MacEwan is home to over 700 Indigenous students, many of whom come from remote communities. Your gift helps break down the barriers they face, providing the financial support they need to thrive.
36% of our student body identifies as non-heterosexual or trans/gender non-conforming. Scholarships for 2SLGBTQ+ students ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can succeed.
8% of our students use Access and Disability Resources services. Your support enables us to offer specialized awards for students managing mental health challenges or accessibility needs, ensuring they can focus on their education without added financial stress.
About 8% of our students are also parents or guardians. They face unique challenges as they put in the effort to create a better future not only for themselves, but also for their families. Your support helps ease the stress of managing both a family and post-secondary education.
About 25% of MacEwan’s student population self-identifies as racialized. Your contribution can provide critical support to these students, allowing them to focus on their studies rather than financial challenges.
