Apply and get accepted to an eligible program.
Complete the Qualification Checklist for an Alberta Works Learner to determine if you might be eligible for Alberta Works funding.
Meet with a Student Advisor at the Advising Office. The advisor will give you a funding application package.

Funding application forms and Career Exploration packages can also be picked up at the Information Centre, Alberta College Campus (10050 MacDonald Drive).
- Complete all required forms.
- Obtain required documents.
- Call 780-633-3708 to book an eligibility assessment interview with a Case Manager.
Be sure to book your appointment at least eight weeks in advance.
Ensure you receive your money on time
Apply early. Application processing takes six to eight weeks after you have met with a Case Manager and submitted all required documents.
Please note: MacEwan has limited funds available for AWIS learners. If grant funding is not available for the current year, students are encouraged to re-apply for the following year.
