Classes are held at MacEwan University's Centre for the Arts and Communications, 10045-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta.

Full time

Two years

Part time

While you cannot take the entire Fine Art Program on a part-time basis, many of our first-year core courses are offered through Continuing Education:

  • ARTE 110 Drawing I
  • ARTE 102 Art History II
  • ARTE 202 Art History III
  • VCPH 100 Digital Photography
  • ARTE 203 Contemporary Art Issues
  • ENGL 111 Communications
  • ENGL 102 Analysis and Argument
  • ENGL 103 Introduction to Literature
  • Electives (you have many to choose from and we recommend university transfer electives)

You need at least nine credits of English and electives (combined) to graduate. An elective is any course that is outside of the program’s field. For example, in the Fine Art program, electives are courses outside of visual art.

Individuals who have taken these courses and would like to enter the full-time program must still apply for admission to the program. If accepted, core courses completed with the minimum required grade of C- will be applied to your advanced standing.

For more information, go to Continuing Education or call 497-5000 to register.
