Manager, Sport and Wellness Business Administration
MacEwan Sport & Wellness
The Manager, Sport and Wellness Business Administration works directly with the Senior Manager, Sport and Wellness to provide business coordination and support for both the Sport and Wellness and Athletic Departments, as well as, direct supervision to the Administrative II position in Sport and Wellness.
Major Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the coordination of budget and financial activities with Sport and Wellness and Athletic departments, which includes:
- Working with Supervisors to prepare, monitor and analyze budget and financial activities, including the preparation of quarterly variance reports
- Advising the Senior Manager, Sport and Wellness and Director, Athletics, on any issues including risk assessment and financial variances
- Assisting with budget development and tracking processes, including preparation of reports, budget projections, year-end processes and creation and maintenance of budgets for projects in PeopleSoft
- Oversee internal controls and processes for revenue generating activities
- Monitor department purchasing, including Asset Replacement Coordination
- Assist with research, preparation, development and implementation of department business and strategic plans
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of department policies, guidelines and procedures
- Coordinate and oversee the financial administration of athletic societies, sport clubs and the Adopt a Griffin program
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of an equipment inventory plan
- Coordinate the on boarding of new staff
Successful candidate will:
- Hold an undergraduate degree in management or administration, or have an Accounting Designation, or have a combination of education combined with equivalent experience
- Have three to five years of demonstrated experience in general administration, financial management and process improvement, preferably in a post-secondary environment. Previous sport and recreation experience as well as supervisory experience an asset.
- Have current certifications in Standard First Aid/CPR C; AED and Oxygen Administration an asset
- Have excellent financial planning, budgeting, monitoring and analytical skills
- Have strong interpersonal, communication, administrative and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong computer skills; prior experience working with CLASS and PeopleSoft an asset
- Be flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Be available to work flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends
This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
Employment Category: Full Time Continuing
Salary range: $62,846 to $81,700 per annum
