MacEwan University's Code of Conduct
MacEwan University adheres to ethical standards reflecting honesty, integrity, fairness and respect, and expects all faculty and staff to exemplify these standards in their interactions, decisions and conduct in matters related to university affairs.
As members of the MacEwan University community, we are expected to know what behaviour is reasonable or unreasonable, legal or illegal, what may concern others and appears to be unfair. Policies are there to help keep us on track.
MacEwan University’s Code of Conduct Policy Guide is built on our values and is supportive of our mission. Our code guides the behaviours of all our faculty and staff. We all have a responsibility to read, understand, and follow it.
Conflict of Interest
As an employee of MacEwan University, if you have a conflict in any activity or decision, you must disclose this information in writing to your supervisor or next-level officer prior to taking action or making the decision. The Conflict of Interest and/or Conflict of Commitment Disclosure Form & Management Agreement is available for your use.
Out of Scope Employment Policies
MacEwan’s “out of scope” employees are those that are excluded from collective bargaining, and are not covered by the terms of a collective agreement. Their employment policy outlines all the terms and conditions of employment, including vacation, benefits, probation and hours of work.
Our Administrative Support & Supervisory Personnel work in a variety of areas across the university and are further defined in the ASSP Employment Policy.
Our Management team at MacEwan are further defined under the employment policies for Administrators, Officers, and Executive Officers.
There is also an employment policy for our Section and Program Chairs, outlining their specific terms and conditions not covered by the Faculty Collective Agreement.
