Acting Library Manager

As a team leader, the Manager, Alberta College Library works with innovation and enthusiasm to provide students and staff with excellent library services at Alberta College campus. This is your opportunity to lead and support a small staff at a busy campus and be actively involved in managing the library and technology support services. You build relationships within the library, campus wide and with the academic programs at Alberta College. You support the development of new projects and approaches including use of electronic resources and services and manage their implementation at Alberta College campus. You embrace and model the Library’s vision statement. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Libraries, this one year term position will commence July 2013.
Applicants require a library technician diploma from an accredited institution. Three to five years of progressively responsible professional library experience is preferred, including demonstrated supervisory/team leadership. You will have successful experience in information literacy instruction, reference, borrower services, and staff training and development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment is also required. Alberta College Campus library is a dynamic environment supporting ESL and Preparation for University and College programs where you can demonstrate your effective organizational and problem solving skills, use of technology and software applications and thrive in an environment of change.
Alberta College Campus, located at 10050 MacDonald Drive, has an enrolment of approximately 1,200 FTE students.
