Team Lead, Student Learning Services and Programming

Do you love helping postsecondary students learn how to grow as excellent students, well-balanced adults and future leaders? Do you have exceptional writing and research, communication, and student engagement skills plus a solid understanding of online learning practices? Then MacEwan University’s Student Life’s Student Leadership Development and Community Engagement unit is looking for your expertise. This role is responsible for supervising the Writing and Learning Service team and realizing projects linked to online learning and student development such as student leadership development and co-curricular initiatives. Supervision, planning, reporting, data management and client services activities are important functions of this position. The successful incumbent will provide direct-service-to-students in targeted e-learning opportunities.

Ideally, candidates should have a minimum of a Master Degree in English, adult education, student development and leadership or equivalent. A candidate without a graduate degree, who can demonstrate that he or she possesses a solid understanding of and experience in formal writing and research, adult education and development, and online learning may be considered. Combinations of relevant education and experience will be considered.

A minimum of two years progressive functional experience in a postsecondary environment with direct knowledge in using online technology such as Blackboard, eCampus and/or social media is desirable. Our successful candidate will have strong communication, planning, and problem solving skills plus be flexible and optimistic so as to look at challenges as opportunities. This incumbent will be able to commit to a shared vision in student development and leadership, make grounded decisions, build shared understandings, and champion Student Leadership Development and Community Engagement and its partnered projects within a multi-stakeholder environment. Excellent Microsoft Office skills are required.
