Ensuring access, providing accommodations, collaborating with the university community. Access and Disability Resources ensures accommodations are in place that allow you to access your post-secondary education fully and equitably.

If you are a student with a disability or medical condition, our staff can arrange the accommodations and services you need to remove barriers from your learning environment. We know that you know your situation best, so we let you take the lead in our discussions. Together, we make the decisions that allow you to participate fully in your post-secondary education.

If you have one or more of the following types of disabilities, or are experiencing other barriers to learning, you can meet with a learning specialist to make arrangements for accommodations:

  • Mobility
  • Sensory (affecting vision and/or hearing)
  • Communication
  • Learning
  • Attention deficit
  • Neurological
  • Psychiatric
  • Chronic medical condition
  • Temporary (e.g., broken arm)

While we would prefer to meet you in person, our Welcome Event has been moved online in response to COVID-19.

It’s never too early

We encourage you to meet with us two to four months before the start of term. This gives us enough time to discuss your needs, select the appropriate in-class and outside-the-classroom accommodations and supports, and put everything in place before the term begins.

Online requests
Accessibility/accommodation letters and alternate format materials can be requested through the student portal. You can also book an exam or schedule a meeting using our online request service.
